ESSAY WRITING
During the admission process, applicants must write a document (a format will be provided) about the potential research topic for the doctorate.
INTERVIEW WITH THE DIRECTOR
A personal interview takes place with the director of the master’s or doctoral program. First, you must approve the previous step.
LETTER OF COMMITMENT
You must submit a payment commitment letter duly signed and pay the first installment.

Applicants must bear in mind the need to train themselves in epistemology, ethics, design, and scientific methodologies, in order to address issues identified in the administration areas and organizational reality.
Applicants must also be practitioners or academics in administration, engineering, or related areas, with ethics, creativity, discipline, strong knowledge in their area of expertise, and proactive attitude towards education and research. They must also feature the followings:
- Analytical skills, complex problem-solving, and critical thinking.
- Capacity to develop research proposals in the field of administration.
- Interest and motivation to contribute to the administration knowledge, focusing on professional paths and activities of teaching, research, innovation, and top tier consultancy services.

- Conceptual capacity to envision the organization’s future and strategic thinking.
- Knowledge about national and international realities.
- Readiness to manage information technologies and data analysis.

- Intermediate or advanced English proficiency.

- Non-certified copy of the valid National Identity Card (DNI) or Alien Registration Card (ARC).
- Non-certified copy of the bachelor’s degree registered in the National Superintendency of University Education (SUNEDU). Not applicable to Ulima graduates.
- Resume duly signed with passport picture (JPG format, 240x288 pixels, 300 DPI minimum resolution, in front of a plain white background, no eyeglasses).
- Academic or employment recommendation letter that certifies applicant's capacity to pursue this doctorate.
- Minimum work experience of five (05) years, whether in business, executive, teaching, managerial, or research positions. This experience can include the participation or involvement with research initiatives or projects.
- Letter of Language Commitment, according to the current University Act.
- One-page Statement of Purpose explaining applicant's objectives and how this program is aligned to his/her professional and academic aspirations.
- Research proposal about the potential topic for the doctorate. This must include the research problem, objectives, theoretical framework, and preliminary methodology (attached model).
- Payment receipt for tuition fees.
Once documents are submitted, the Admission Office will send you an email within 48 hours to pay the application process fees (350 PEN).
GRADUATE PROFILE
Graduates from the Doctorate in Administration are ethical academics with high professional profile, who will contribute towards knowledge generation in their areas of expertise. They are fully capable of exercising as professors and researchers in their study field.
Graduates are able to:
- Analyze with scientific criteria the theoretical body of administration, using the scientific method to generate conclusions and inputs, and propose action strategies.
- Plan their work at short, medium and long-term through the self-management of the proposed project, with minimum external supervision and embracing critical feedback.
- Elaborate documents that gather and disseminate research results, following scientific procedures, standards, and rigor.
- Put together teams of researchers and establish collaboration networks with colleagues to create investigation groups.
- Communicate their research results to different audiences—both academics and practitioners—orally and in writing.
- Work as professors or researchers in organizations that require high analytical skills and training of new researchers.
- Lead original research in their fields of study, in order to increase knowledge in national and international contexts.
- Integrate top management and directorates under a more comprehensive approach that combines theory with practice.
- GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
- REQUIREMENTS TO OBTAIN THE ACADEMIC DEGREE
To obtain the graduate status, students must:
- Complete the curriculum.
- Comply with all Ulima obligations and commitments.
- Process the graduate status with the Student Services and Registry Bureau (DUSAR).
To obtain the academic degree, students must:
- Hold the graduate status.
- Certify the proficiency of two foreign or native languages (one of them must have an intermediate level). To do so, students must submit certificates issued by institutions recognized by Ulima Language Center.
- Have scientific papers approved to be indexed in scientific journals, following the current regulations of the doctoral program.
- Prepare their theses following the doctoral guidelines and defend it before a Jury during a public ceremony for its approval.
- Comply with all requirements set forth in the rules and regulations.

MONTES, Juan Sebastián
PhD in Business Administration and Management from IESE Business School – University of Navarra. Expert in strategic planning and implementation, public policy, government, and international business. Professor at Boston University and Adolfo Ibáñez University, Governor of Los Lagos region, and CEO at Salmofood in Puerto Montt. He currently serves as Associate Professor of the Practice at Carroll School of Management in Boston College (United States).
VIVES DE PRAGA, Luis
PhD in Management from IESE Business School. Diploma in Piano Performance and Music Theory. Bachelor in Business Administration from Universidad de Navarra. Postdoctoral fellow at the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Luis has been visiting professor at various universities worldwide and worked with multinational companies in the United States, Europe, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East across multiple sectors, including banking, insurance, telecommunications, wines and spirits, pharmaceuticals, among others. He is the current Director of Corporate Relations and Engagement, and Full Professor in the Department of Strategy and General Management at ESADE Business School. Associate Dean of the Full-Time MBA, Director of International Custom Programmes and Director of Multinational MBA. Luis has also served as Consulting Editor at Harvard Deusto Business Review in Spain.
