PRINCIPLES FOR RESPONSIBLE MANAGEMENT EDUCATION
The Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) is a United Nations-supported initiative founded in 2007 that aims to raise the profile of sustainability in business and management education through Seven Principles focused on serving society and safeguarding our planet. PRME engages business and management schools to ensure they provide future leaders with the skills needed to balance economic, environmental, and social goals, while drawing attention to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and aligning academic institutions with the work of the UN Global Compact. Since 2020, Universidad de Lima is an advanced signatory, which means that the University is committed to submit reports every 24 months through the Sharing Information on Progress (SIP) and make a nominal contribution to the Annual Service Fee.
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT SOLUTIONS NETWORK
The Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) is a global leading network focused on achieving UN Sustainable Development Objectives (SDGs).
As member of the SDSN, there are plenty ways in which Universidad de Lima can collaborate with the SDSN, and vice versa. To learn more about the membership benefits and information on how to participate, click here.
NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF QUALITY
The National Institute of Quality (INACAL), through its Standardization Bureau, held a virtual ceremony where the Technical Standardization Committee (CTN) of Circular Economy was consolidated. In this regard, Universidad de Lima accepted the Technical Secretariat of such committee through its Sustainability Center, leading these efforts along with representatives of the private, public and academic sectors.
The CTN of Circular Economy aims at establishing standardization mechanisms (Peruvian Guide, Peruvian Technical Regulations) applicable to the implementation of circular economy principles among organizations. Since August 2020, Universidad de Lima is part of the committee in the form of Technical Secretariat.
BIC COMPANIES
Universidad de Lima Sustainability Center will be presented in the Task Force for Dynamization of the BIC Company ecosystem in Peru by Juan Diego Mujica Filippi, leader of the project “Legal innovation for sustainable development”. This group has been created through Ministerial Resolution and aims at promoting and strengthening the BIC Company ecosystem in Peru, by articulating strategic opportunities with the national business community in order to achieve financial profitability and social-environmental impact, framed in the contribution towards SDGs.
THE ACADEMIA DRIVING GROUP FOR CLIMATE ACTION
The Academia Driving Group for Climate Action (GIA) gathers together academic and research institutions. Its aims at contributing to the dissemination of scientific evidence for decision making pertaining the comprehensive management of climate change at the National Climate Change Commission. Universidad de Lima is part of this group since September 2020, with a very active role. The GIA organizes and participates in many activities, such as:
- Training on climate change for GIA members.
- Awareness campaigns and training on the use of climate action tools (e.g.: digital tool Huella de Carbono Perú).
- Dissemination and awareness activities about climate change.
- On a monthly basis, the GIA is invited to working sessions to review the 2050 National Climate Change Strategy (NCCS).
Currently, Universidad de Lima is part of the organizing commission of Academic Dialogues – event focused on integrating research initiatives developed by universities and other research centers with the interests of public managers and decision-makers.
LATIN AMERICAN COUNCIL OF MANAGEMENT SCHOOLS
The Latin American Council of Management Schools (CLADEA) seeks to contribute to the educational quality through training programs, academic research and exchange of knowledge and experiences.
The Sustainability Center at Universidad de Lima contributes towards the triple-impact applied research by participating in CLADEA’s social responsibility network, which comprises different Latin American universities.
