Article 83 of the University Act states:
- To become a full professor, candidates must hold a professional title or a doctoral degree earned through in-person education and must have previously been appointed as associate professors. Exceptionally, candidates who are not associate professors may apply if they have a recognized research portfolio and an academic track record of over 15 years.
- To become an associate professor, candidates must hold a professional title or a master’s degree and must have previously been appointed as assistant professors. Exceptionally, candidates who are not associate professors may apply if they have a recognized research portfolio and an academic track record of over 10 years.
- To become an assistant professor, candidates must hold a professional title or a master’s degree with an academic track record of 5 years.
