The Office of Internationalization collaborates with the University’s academic and administrative departments to identify and develop international cooperation initiatives, with valuable support from Erasmus+.

Erasmus+ is the European Union’s program for supporting education, training, youth, and sport in Europe. Through a competitive selection process, it funds cooperation projects between Europe and other regions, ranging from academic and scientific mobility to institutional capacity building.

Objective

Objective

CHANGE THE CLIMATE

Objective
To strengthen the role of Latin American universities in advancing sustainable development by introducing systematic environmental practices and quality processes aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This initiative will enhance governance, operations, and academic engagement in higher education institutions. The project will provide practical tools and guidance to measure environmental impact, align campus activities with the SDGs, implement environmental management systems, assess sustainability awareness, and integrate sustainability strategies into curricula. It will also create a multilingual online course on sustainability (English, Spanish, Portuguese) accessible to all. Its influence will extend beyond partner institutions, reaching stakeholders at local, regional, and national levels, and promoting behavioral change toward a sustainable future.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR INTERNATIONAL RESEARCHERS

Visiting researchers interested in a research stay at Universidad de Lima must contact the Office of Internationalization and submit a document including:

  1. Motivation letter for conducting the research stay at Universidad de Lima
  2. Connection between the research and Ulima's research areas 
  3. List of previous research projects and details of funding sources (if applicable)
  4. List of articles published in indexed journals over the past five years (if applicable)
  5. Detailed work plan specifying activities and dates of the stay
  6. Proof of funding (only for institutional or competitive public funds)
  7. Curriculum vitae

While at Universidad de Lima, visiting researchers may be offered a workspace and access to the University’s library resources. Support may also be provided for visa procedures with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (if required) and for accommodation guidance in Lima.

Universidad de Lima will not provide funding to visiting researchers. They are responsible for all expenses related to their stay and must secure international health insurance for its entire duration.

The SBW Berlin Scholarship supports international students from underprivileged family backgrounds who aim to apply the knowledge acquired during their studies in Germany to drive sustainable, non-profit initiatives, ideally in their home countries.

Funding is available for bachelor's and master's degree programs at universities or universities of applied sciences in Berlin and Potsdam. Selection is based on academic merit, personal aptitude, and social profile (social needs). Most scientific and artistic disciplines are eligible.

Scholarship recipients must return to their home country and pursue their professional goals for at least 18 months after completing the scholarship or degree program. They are also required to maintain regular contact with the SBW Berlin team, providing updates on their professional development, including project progress and career advancement.

The Rosa Luxemburg Foundation awards scholarships for bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs in Germany, aiming to make political education more accessible, promote social justice and solidarity among nations, and combat discrimination based on gender, ethnicity, or nationality.

Applicants from all Latin American countries are eligible. The Foundation looks for candidates who demonstrate both active social engagement and a genuine passion for learning.

The Scholarship Department of the Heinrich Böll Foundation provides funding to graduate and doctoral students from outside Germany. Scholarships are not available for undergraduate studies.

Applicants are expected to demonstrate outstanding academic performance, active social or political engagement, and a strong commitment to the foundation’s core values: ecology, sustainability, democracy, human rights, self-determination, and justice.

Important: Applicants must complete a written German language proficiency test (minimum level: DSH 2 or TestDaF B2). Applications are accepted twice per year and must be submitted online. The application portal opens six weeks before the deadline.

The Konrad Adenauer Foundation awards scholarships to outstanding students and graduates engaged in social or political causes. The program supports studies at German universities as well as one-year research stays for PhD candidates working on topics relevant to their home countries.

Recipients are expected to contribute to the scientific, cultural, administrative, or political development of their home countries through national or international organizations. Applications are open to all fields of study, except medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, and education. Political engagement is a key factor in the selection process.

  • German language proficiency equivalent to the Zertifikat Deutsch als Fremdsprache (DaF), certified by the Goethe-Institut, prior to departure (not applicable to English-taught master’s programs, which require the TOEFL).

With its development-oriented graduate programs, DAAD promotes the training of specialists from development and newly industrialized countries. The scholarship covers the following:

  • Depending on academic level, monthly payments of €992 for graduates or €1,300 for PhD candidates

  • Travel allowance, unless these expenses are covered by the home country or another source of funding

Requirements:

The Fulbright Program provides partial funding for Peruvian professionals to pursue master’s degrees at universities in the United States. Applicants must demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, a commitment to Peru’s development, and the capacity to strengthen U.S.–Peru relations. Eligibility requirements include ranking in the top third of their undergraduate class (or graduating with thesis honors) and at least two years of professional experience after completing their degree—or, in the case of lawyers, after receiving their professional title. Applications are open to all fields except medicine, dentistry, nursing, clinical psychology, MBA, and business. The TWAS-SN Bose Postgraduate Fellowship provides young scientists from developing countries with the opportunity to conduct research at the SN Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences in Kolkata, India.
