Industrial Engineering
Industrial Chemistry Laboratory
This is an area where students optimize their knowledge through experiences that aim to understand and relate the principles of inorganic and organic chemistry with the applications available in the industry.
The experiments conducted are intended to enter the chemical-industrial field based on the knowledge of factors that will allow understanding the effects of the equilibrium constant of chemical reactions involving concentrations of gases or aqueous solutions with spectrometric techniques, and interpreting oxidation-reduction (redox) reactions. Likewise, some of the different pilot plant applications of electrochemistry will be understood, such as electricity production, generation of gases and other substances in aqueous solution, and examination of the chemical reactions of hydrocarbons.
Some of our equipment is detailed below:
AquaMate 8000 UV-Vis spectrophotometer
This equipment is used to determine absorbance and transmittance with the aim of identifying solution concentrations.
Hot air sterilizer and drying oven
This equipment is used to dry materials and samples, as well as to sterilize glassware.
Hot plate stirrer
This equipment is used to heat and stir solutions, as well as to mix substances at controlled temperatures.
