ABET Accreditation: Education Quality Assurance
In 2020, the Industrial Engineering Undergraduate Program of Universidad de Lima was accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), a prestigious organization that accredits higher education programs in applied and natural science, computing, engineering and engineering technology worldwide. The Program received the maximum length of accreditation given by ABET, which confirms its compliance with international quality standards that guarantee academic excellence, and its passion to educate competent and innovative professionals who offer creative and efficient solutions.
ABET: accreditations in more than 40 countries
Based in Baltimore, United States, and founded in 1932, ABET is a nonprofit organization that has accredited programs in more than 40 countries. Thanks to this global recognition, its accreditations guarantee better positions for students and professionals at the workplace in local and foreign markets, as well as encourage the continuous improvement of institutions.

ABET accreditation requirements
A program is accredited by ABET when it is found to meet the criteria and standards set by ABET. To obtain this recognition, the institution must submit a formal Request for Evaluation. As a result of the process, the Industrial Engineering Undergraduate Program of Universidad de Lima was accredited by ABET, which highlighted the level of professors, the innovative environment of transfer and development of knowledge and skills, and the infrastructure and the quality of the laboratories supported by an excellent technical team, among other qualities.
Moreover, ABET promotes the following abilities in the students of the Ulima Industrial Engineering Undergraduate Program: apply mathematics, science and technology to the solution of problems; design solutions according to the needs of people and environment; know how to communicate in public orally, in writing and bodily in order to convince the audience; be ethical to weight the impact of engineering solutions; know how to work on a team and provide leadership that motivates members to meet objectives; experiment, analyze and interpret data and draw personal conclusions; and acquire and apply new knowledge.
