Textile and Apparel Manufacturing Laboratory
Created in 2013, the laboratory meets the objective of being a business and production management model of a textile and apparel company by applying Good Manufacturing Practices and quality tools such as 5S, lean manufacturing and kaizen.
This is an academic-industrial setting for the exploration of strategies by applying an active learning methodology where students interact with the industrial world through the development of business and production management of a textile and apparel company. Thus, both students and professors may explore the specific strategies involved in the industry, as well as the approaches of fashion companies in areas as diverse as product design, collection development, supply chain management, occupational health and safety, ergonomics, total maintenance, logistics management and production management.
